This is a highly detailed miniature of a Flaming Skull.

This model was created by M3DM who makes amazingly accurate models of Dungeons & Dragons creatures and is provided by Commercial License.

A Flaming Skull in Dungeons & Dragons is an undead creature, often used as a guardian in ancient tombs or arcane sanctuaries. These floating skulls, wreathed in eerie green or red flames, are created when a powerful spellcaster enchants the remains of a deceased wizard or cleric, binding their soul to unending servitude. Despite their diminutive size, Flaming Skulls are formidable opponents due to their ability to cast spells, resist nonmagical weapons, and rapidly regenerate unless specific methods are used to prevent it, such as dispel magic or holy water.

Typically, they retain some of their former intelligence and wit, making them capable of taunting intruders or following simple programmed instructions. Their spellcasting ability usually includes offensive magic such as fireball and shield, making them deadly in confined spaces. Their immunity to fire damage and resistance to most conventional attacks make them resilient foes, especially for unprepared adventurers.

Flaming Skulls are often found in service to necromancers or as ancient defenses left behind in lost dungeons. Unlike mindless undead, they sometimes develop an unsettling personality, cackling madly as they unleash destruction. Their magical nature means they do not require rest and can persist indefinitely unless properly destroyed. Adventurers facing a Flaming Skull must ensure they take precautions to prevent its resurrection, lest it return to haunt the same halls again and again.
