SCP-4666, while not a creature native to the Dungeons & Dragons universe, can be adapted into a terrifying and memorable entity for a campaign. Originally from the SCP Foundation, SCP-4666 is known as "The Yule Man," a humanoid entity that appears during the winter months, particularly around the night of December 21st through January 2nd. In the SCP mythos, this being targets families during what are called "Weissnacht Events," infiltrating homes and leaving behind horrific scenes, often involving the murder of adults and the kidnapping or mutilation of children. These events are always marked by a trail of bizarre, handmade gifts fashioned from human remains, left behind for surviving family members.
In Dungeons & Dragons, SCP-4666 can be reimagined as a malevolent fey, undead, or fiendish creature who operates during the coldest nights of the year. Perhaps it is bound by a curse or ancient pact to haunt the winter solstice, compelled to visit homes and punish families for long-forgotten transgressions. It might be an entity born of winter’s cruelty, a remorseless spirit that despises warmth, love, and cheer, seeking to snuff them out wherever they are found.
Mechanically, SCP-4666 could be represented as a unique Legendary creature with high stealth, cold resistance or immunity, and powerful lair actions that manifest during the darkest nights. It may have abilities centered around fear, dreams, or charm to incapacitate parents while it torments children. Its presence might be heralded by strange weather patterns, nightmares, or sudden deaths by frost in nearby villages. The party may be hired to investigate a string of disappearances or bizarre murders, ultimately discovering a folklore figure that most believe is a myth. The horror of SCP-4666 in D&D lies in its slow, methodical terror and the emotional stakes it introduces, making it an excellent antagonist for a dark, winter-themed adventure.
