Art
Hueforge is a digital art tool designed to create images specifically for 3D printing using filament layering rather than traditional ink or pigment. It translates colours and tones into precise depths and filament combinations, allowing printers to reproduce detailed, multi-coloured images by varying the thickness of translucent materials. Instead of mixing pigments on a surface, Hueforge manipulates light and transparency within the printed layers, so the final piece reveals its full colour.
Unlike ordinary photographs, which rely on flat, two-dimensional colour values, Hueforge images have physical depth that interacts with light in dynamic ways. The resulting artwork is tactile and enduring, immune to fading or damage that can affect printed photos.
Each piece is both a technical print and a crafted artwork, combining precision engineering with aesthetic design.
