A Beagle is a small to medium-sized breed of dog known for its keen sense of smell, friendly personality, and strong hunting instincts. Traditionally bred as a scent hound, the Beagle was developed to track small game such as rabbits and hares, using its extraordinary nose to follow trails for long distances. This remarkable scenting ability, second only to the Bloodhound, has also made Beagles popular as detection dogs, often used in airports and law enforcement to sniff out contraband or prohibited items.
