The ears are small and rounded at the tips, giving them a plush, teddy bear-like face.

Their coat is short but incredibly dense, plush, and crisp to the touch, often described as “velvety.” While the most famous variety is the blue-gray color, British Shorthairs come in almost every color and pattern, including white, black, cream, tabby, and even colorpoint variations. Grooming is relatively easy due to their short hair, but their dense undercoat benefits from regular brushing to prevent matting and reduce shedding.

Temperamentally, British Shorthairs are known for being calm, easygoing, and affectionate without being overly demanding.
