In Dungeons & Dragons, an angel is a celestial being embodying pure goodness and law, often serving benevolent deities or cosmic forces of righteousness. These powerful entities originate from the Upper Planes, such as Mount Celestia, and act as divine messengers, warriors, or guardians against evil. They possess radiant, often humanoid forms with luminous wings and exude an aura of divine authority.

Angels typically come in three primary types: devas, planetars, and solars. Devas are the least powerful but still formidable, serving as divine emissaries guiding mortals or delivering messages from the gods. Planetars are mightier, often acting as generals in celestial armies, waging war against fiends and other malevolent forces. Solars, the most powerful, are near godlike beings wielding legendary weapons and capable of single-handedly defeating great evils.

Angels are immune to disease, resistant to nonmagical weapons, and capable of flight, teleportation, and powerful divine magic, including healing and smiting foes with radiant energy.
