This is a Highly detailed miniature of an Ascmomoid for Dungeons & Dragons.

This model was created by Schlossbauer who makes amazingly accurate models of the Monster Manual creatures and provided by Commercial Licence.

Ascomoids are aberrations found in the world of Dungeons & Dragons, known for their bizarre appearance and unsettling abilities. These creatures resemble large, pulsating masses of fungal matter, often taking on the form of a grotesque, bloated mushroom with numerous writhing tendrils. Despite their alien appearance, they possess a strange intelligence and exhibit cunning behavior.

Ascomoids are typically encountered in dark, damp environments such as underground caverns, swamps, or deep forests where fungal growth is abundant. They are often found lurking near areas rich in decay and organic matter, which they feed upon to sustain themselves. Ascomoids possess a unique method of reproduction through spore release, allowing them to spread and proliferate in their environment.

In combat, ascomoids are formidable opponents due to their ability to manipulate fungal matter to ensnare and incapacitate their foes. They can command spores to cloud the air, causing confusion and choking those who inhale them. Their tendrils are capable of lashing out with surprising speed and accuracy, delivering debilitating strikes or grappling prey to drag them closer for consumption.

One of the most unnerving aspects of ascomoids is their ability to infect living creatures with fungal spores, turning them into mindless servants under their control. These infected creatures, known as fungal thralls, serve the ascomoid's will without question, further expanding its influence and power.

Adventurers who encounter ascomoids must exercise caution and be prepared for a challenging encounter. Their mastery over fungal growth and manipulation of spores make them formidable adversaries, and their ability to corrupt and control other creatures adds an additional layer of complexity to any encounter. Only through careful planning and resourcefulness can adventurers hope to overcome these strange and terrifying aberrations lurking in the shadows of the Dungeons & Dragons world.
