This model was created by M3DM who makes amazingly accurate models of Dungeons & Dragons creatures and is provided by Commercial License.

A Baby Eye Monster in Dungeons & Dragons is a small, immature version of a beholder or one of its lesser kin. These creatures are often called gazers, observer spawn, or eye spawn, depending on their specific origin. Unlike a full-grown beholder, which is a powerful and highly intelligent aberration, a baby eye monster is much weaker, both physically and mentally. It usually has a spherical body, a large central eye, and several smaller eyestalks that can fire minor magical effects, resembling a miniature beholder.

These creatures are typically spawned by beholders through a form of subconscious reproduction. When a beholder dreams intensely about itself or about new beholder variations, its thoughts can manifest as physical offspring. Baby eye monsters often serve as minions, spies, or pets for their larger kin, though they sometimes develop independent personalities. Unlike true beholders, which are paranoid and xenophobic, baby eye monsters tend to be more playful and mischievous, though they can still be dangerous if provoked.

Mechanically, they have limited eye rays compared to full beholders, often featuring abilities such as charm, fear, or minor force blasts. Their intelligence varies, with some being little more than instinct-driven creatures while others may exhibit cunning behavior. In campaigns, they can serve as early encounters, familiars for villains, or comedic sidekicks. Some adventurers may even attempt to tame or befriend them, though their chaotic nature makes them unpredictable allies.

While baby eye monsters lack the overwhelming power of a true beholder, they can still be formidable in numbers or under the control of a greater entity. Whether as foes, pets, or strange curiosities, they add an element of the bizarre to any Dungeons & Dragons adventure.
