A Carrion Stalker is a creature in Dungeons & Dragons, first introduced in *Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft*. It is a predatory aberration that lurks in graveyards, crypts, or other places associated with death. The Carrion Stalker feeds on decaying flesh and thrives in dark, damp environments where death is prevalent. It resembles a twisted amalgamation of insect and arachnid, with a grotesque form that includes a mouth filled with sharp mandibles and long, spindly legs capable of climbing walls and ceilings.

Carrion Stalkers are ambush predators, lying in wait for unsuspecting creatures to wander into their territory. Once prey is near, they strike quickly, using their agility and stealth to latch onto a victim, often targeting humanoids or other creatures drawn to the scent of death. Despite their relatively small size, their attacks can be vicious, as they inject their prey with a paralyzing venom to immobilize them before devouring the flesh.

These creatures pose a significant threat to adventurers who explore crypts or dungeons, particularly those weakened by previous battles or unaware of the lurking dangers. Though not as formidable as some other undead or aberrant monsters, Carrion Stalkers are dangerous in groups or when encountered in confined spaces where their ability to move along surfaces gives them a tactical advantage. They are often encountered alongside other carrion-eating creatures or as minions of more powerful necromantic entities.
