This is a highly detailed miniature of a Displacer Beast.

This model was created by M3DM who makes amazingly accurate models of Dungeons & Dragons creatures and is provided by Commercial License.

A Displacer Beast in Dungeons & Dragons is a large, panther-like magical creature with six legs and two long tentacles sprouting from its shoulders. Its defining trait is its ability to create an illusory displacement effect, making it appear a few feet away from its actual position. This natural camouflage confounds enemies, granting the beast an edge in combat by making it difficult to target accurately.

Originally from the Feywild, Displacer Beasts were bred by the Unseelie Court as hunters and enforcers before escaping into the Material Plane. They are intelligent, cruel, and hunt for sport as much as for sustenance. These creatures often form packs, using coordinated tactics to ambush prey, herding them into disadvantageous positions before striking with their powerful tentacles, which deliver raking, whip-like attacks.

Their displacement ability is a core mechanic in D&D, imposing disadvantage on attack rolls against them until they take damage, at which point their illusion momentarily fails. This makes them dangerous foes, as they require precise tactics to overcome.

Displacer Beasts are sometimes domesticated by evil beings, such as dark elves or powerful warlords, and trained as guardians or hunting beasts. Their sleek, black fur and glowing eyes make them both terrifying and majestic.

Throughout D&D lore, adventurers prize their pelts for crafting enchanted cloaks that mimic their displacement ability. These monsters embody stealth, cunning, and lethal efficiency, making them an enduring challenge in the game.
