This is a highly detailed miniature of a Gargoyle.

This model was created by M3DM who makes amazingly accurate models of Dungeons & Dragons creatures and is provided by Commercial License.

In Dungeons & Dragons, a gargoyle is a monstrous, winged creature resembling a grotesque stone statue brought to life. They are typically depicted as demonic, horned beings with clawed limbs, bat-like wings, and a sinister, leering visage. Though they appear to be made of stone, gargoyles are living creatures with a supernatural resilience that makes them exceptionally difficult to harm.

Gargoyles are usually chaotic evil, delighting in ambushes and tormenting the weak. Their stony exteriors grant them a natural camouflage when they remain motionless, allowing them to surprise adventurers and unwary travelers. Many serve dark masters, such as evil spellcasters or powerful fiends, acting as sentinels for temples, fortresses, and cursed ruins. They are also commonly found in service to the demon lord Gargauth or other malevolent entities.

One of their most infamous traits is their damage resistance to nonmagical weapons that aren’t made of adamantine. This makes them formidable foes for adventurers unprepared for supernatural threats. They are not particularly intelligent but are cunning enough to use their environment to their advantage, attacking from above or striking when their prey is most vulnerable.

Though often depicted as mindless brutes, some gargoyles possess enough intelligence to form loose groups or follow long-term goals, especially when under the influence of a more powerful being. They are not known for loyalty, however, and may turn on their masters if the opportunity for greater destruction or personal gain arises. Their eerie, ever-watchful nature and seemingly unyielding endurance make them ideal guardians, ensuring that their presence remains a menacing challenge in the worlds of Dungeons & Dragons.
