An Annis Hag in Dungeons & Dragons is a type of monstrous fey creature known for its terrifying appearance and malevolent nature. Standing between seven to eight feet tall, an Annis Hag has a muscular build, deep blue or black skin, and sharp, iron-like claws and teeth. Its eyes gleam with malevolent intelligence, and its hair is often a tangled mess, adding to its fearsome visage.

Annis Hags thrive on causing fear and pain, often residing in desolate areas such as dark forests, mountain caves, or abandoned ruins. They enjoy manipulating and tormenting those who live nearby, using their shape-shifting abilities to instill terror. Unlike some hags who might prefer more subtle manipulations, Annis Hags are direct in their cruelty, often relishing in physical confrontation and combat. They have a strong affinity for children, whom they particularly enjoy terrorizing, sometimes even eating them.

Annis Hags possess several magical abilities. They can change their form to appear as a humanoid or animal, use their innate spellcasting to create illusions, and employ their natural talents to enhance their combat prowess. They are resistant to many forms of damage and can quickly regenerate health. Their lairs are often littered with trophies from their victims, including bones, trinkets, and stolen treasures.

In terms of personality, Annis Hags are cunning, cruel, and enjoy the suffering of others. They often ally with other evil creatures, sometimes forming covens with other hags to increase their power. Despite their chaotic and evil nature, they are capable of strategic thinking and long-term planning, making them formidable foes. Adventurers who seek to confront an Annis Hag must be prepared for a battle of both wits and strength, as these creatures are relentless in their pursuit of causing pain and spreading fear.
