This model was created by Schlossbauer who makes amazingly accurate models of the Monster Manual creatures and provided by Commercial Licence.

In Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), a Mane is a type of fiendish creature that belongs to the demonic hierarchy. These lesser demons are often depicted as savage and bestial, resembling humanoid lions with demonic features. Their origin lies in the Abyss, the chaotic and infinite plane of evil. Manes are among the lowest ranks of demons, typically serving more powerful fiends or demonic lords.

Physically, Manes possess a fearsome appearance, with sharp claws, fangs, and a muscular, leonine body. Despite their ferocious appearance, they lack intelligence and strategic thinking, acting primarily on primal instincts to hunt and attack. They are driven by an insatiable hunger for destruction and mayhem, making them dangerous adversaries to encounter.

Manes are often summoned by more powerful demons to serve as foot soldiers or cannon fodder in battles. They are not particularly skilled in combat but make up for it with sheer numbers and ferocity. In some cases, they may also be used as guards or sentinels, although their lack of intellect makes them easily manipulated or outsmarted.

In D&D lore, Manes are considered among the weakest of demons, often seen as pitiful and expendable even by other fiends. However, their presence can still pose a threat, especially when encountered in large groups or under the command of a more powerful demon.

Encounters with Manes in D&D adventures often involve confronting them in dark, desolate places such as abandoned ruins, underground caverns, or other locations tainted by demonic influence. Overcoming them typically requires a combination of combat prowess and strategic thinking, as well as a strong will to resist their chaotic and corrupting influence.
