This is a highly detailed miniature of a Pseudodragon Chonky.

This model was created by MZ4250 who makes amazingly accurate models of the Monster Manual creatures and provided by Commercial License.

A Pseudodragon Chonky in Dungeons & Dragons is not an official creature listed in core rulebooks, but rather a humorous or affectionate term coined by players and dungeon masters to describe a particularly plump or oversized version of the standard pseudodragon. The traditional pseudodragon is a Tiny dragon-like creature, often considered a magical beast or familiar, known for its catlike temperament, limited telepathy, and poisonous sting. In contrast, the "chonky" variant is typically imagined as a whimsical exaggeration of these traits, ballooned into a slightly larger, rounder, and more endearing form.

While it retains the core traits of a standard pseudodragon—telepathic communication, a mild venomous sting, and the ability to serve as a familiar—the chonky version is usually portrayed with a notable emphasis on personality. It might be lazy, preferring naps in sunbeams over flight, or obsessed with food, especially sweet pastries or bacon. Its wings may seem too small for its body, making flight a clumsy but determined effort. The image of a pseudodragon chonky curling up on a spellbook or stubbornly squeezing into a wizard’s hood is a favorite among players who enjoy light-hearted companions.

Mechanically, a Dungeon Master might allow a chonky pseudodragon as a familiar or NPC, adjusting its stats slightly—perhaps giving it more hit points or a slower fly speed—to reflect its larger frame. However, these changes are rarely mechanical necessities and are more often narrative flourishes, adding humor and flavor to a campaign. As with any homebrew or flavor-based variant, the key appeal lies in the relationship it fosters with player characters, especially wizards, warlocks, or druids who treat it not just as a magical assistant but as a quirky, beloved pet.

Ultimately, the chonky pseudodragon embodies the playful, whimsical spirit that often breathes life into a D&D table, reminding everyone that not all dragons must be majestic or terrifying—some are just adorable and round.
