Dungeons & Dragons Skincrawler Miniature

A Skincrawler in Dungeons & Dragons is a horrifying undead creature, often featured in gothic or horror-themed campaigns. It’s created from the remains of someone who has died from a terrifying or traumatic experience, their skin animated by dark magic. The creature has no bones or organs, instead moving as a writhing mass of skin, muscle, and sinew, sometimes slithering on the ground or clinging to surfaces like a parasite. 

Skincrawlers are typically used by malevolent necromancers or powerful undead beings as spies, assassins, or enforcers. Due to their grotesque nature, they instill fear in those who encounter them. They have a limited intelligence but are relentless in their pursuit of victims, often wrapping around them to suffocate or constrict their prey. 

In combat, Skincrawlers are dangerous because of their ability to meld with shadows, giving them excellent stealth. They may latch onto a target, draining life force or causing paralyzing fear. Some versions of the Skincrawler can regenerate by absorbing flesh or skin from others. Their flexibility allows them to slip through tight spaces, making them difficult to contain or corner.

The most terrifying aspect of Skincrawlers is their ability to mimic the appearance of their original form, posing as the victim they once were, luring others into traps or using this form for psychological warfare. While not as powerful as other undead creatures, their unsettling appearance and sneaky tactics make them a fearsome challenge in any adventure.
