Dungeons & Dragons Soul Larvae Miniature
This is a Highly detailed miniature of a Smiling Slime for Dungeons & Dragons.
This model was created by Schlossbauer who makes amazingly accurate models of the Monster Manual creatures and provided by Commercial Licence.
The Smiling Slime is a variant of the classic ooze monsters found in Dungeons & Dragons. While not as widely known as other slimes like the Gelatinous Cube, the Smiling Slime presents a unique and deceptive threat. Unlike typical slimes, which are amorphous blobs or puddles of acidic material, the Smiling Slime has an eerie, humanoid face etched into its form, often with a wide, unsettling grin.
This face is not just for show; it serves to lure in unwary adventurers by mimicking expressions and appearing strangely friendly or harmless from a distance. Adventurers might mistake it for a magical creature or even a helpful entity due to its unnerving smile. However, this is a deadly trap.
Smiling Slimes possess the same acidic and corrosive properties as other oozes, dissolving organic material and metal with ease. Their primary tactic is to use their deceptive appearance to lure victims close, at which point they engulf and digest them. Some variants of the Smiling Slime can even imitate basic speech or mimic laughter, adding to their ruse.
Mechanically, they behave similarly to other slimes, with high resistances to physical damage and immunity to many status effects due to their ooze-like nature. However, their ability to manipulate emotions or speech sets them apart, making them more dangerous in roleplaying-heavy campaigns. They are often used by Dungeon Masters as a psychological tool to unnerve players and create tense encounters where trust and perception are key. The Smiling Slime is a perfect blend of psychological horror and classic D&D combat challenge.
