This is a Highly detailed miniature of a Tar Jelly.

This model was created by Schlossbauer who makes amazingly accurate models of the Monster Manual creatures and provided by Commercial Licence.

A Tar Jelly is an ooze-like creature found in various Dungeons & Dragons settings, typically appearing in older editions and homebrew bestiaries, though it occasionally resurfaces in newer content as a type of variant ooze. It resembles a large, amorphous mass of viscous, black sludge with a thick, sticky consistency not unlike hot tar. Its surface bubbles and shifts continuously, giving the impression of molten pitch, and it gives off a faint odor of burning oil. Like most oozes, a Tar Jelly is mindless and driven only by instinct, reacting primarily to movement and heat, which it associates with living prey.

What distinguishes a Tar Jelly from other oozes like Black Puddings or Ochre Jellies is its intensely adhesive nature and high resistance to fire. Bludgeoning weapons can harm it, but anything involving heat, flames, or even lightning might be absorbed or have reduced effect. In fact, some versions of the creature actually grow stronger when exposed to fire, splitting into smaller jellies when burned—each still capable of grappling and consuming victims independently. This makes them dangerous opponents for adventurers who rely on fire magic or flaming weapons.

Its adhesive properties also play a significant tactical role. A Tar Jelly can trap and immobilize creatures that come into contact with it, gluing them in place with semi-hardened strands of its tarry body. Escaping from one can require strength or magical assistance, especially as the jelly begins to engulf its target. Armor and weapons can be rendered useless as they are gummed up or slowly dissolved, depending on the specific version in use. Tar Jellies tend to lurk in warm, dark areas such as volcanic caverns, the depths of ruined furnaces, or magically corrupted swamps, waiting for prey to stumble into their reach. Their sluggishness is their only true weakness, but by the time a creature realizes it is stuck, escape may already be too late.
