This is a Highly detailed miniature of a Tar Jelly.

This model was created by Schlossbauer who makes amazingly accurate models of the Monster Manual creatures and provided by Commercial Licence.

The Tyrant Jelly is a bizarre and grotesque creature from the Dungeons & Dragons universe, often appearing in high-level adventures where the weird and the terrifying blend. A rare type of ooze, it was introduced in Spelljammer campaigns and certain outer-planar or alien-themed modules. What makes the Tyrant Jelly especially disturbing is its origin—it is a mimicry of a beholder, either through magical mutation or extraplanar influence, resulting in a gelatinous monstrosity that mimics the terrifying structure of a beholder's central eye and multiple eyestalks. However, unlike the tyrannical beholder, the Tyrant Jelly lacks intelligence or malice. Instead, it operates purely on instinct, guided by a strange blend of pseudopodic movement and fluid mimicry.

Physically, it appears as a hovering, semitranslucent sphere of jelly-like mass, with tendrils or eyestalk-like appendages shifting constantly in its amorphous form. These stalks are not true sensory organs but are capable of delivering magical effects similar to the rays of a beholder, albeit more chaotically. This makes the Tyrant Jelly a parody of its namesake, echoing the abilities of a beholder in a less controlled and more erratic fashion. Its attacks include disintegration-like effects, paralysis, or psychic bursts, all randomly triggered when the jelly is provoked or feeding.

The Tyrant Jelly is often found drifting in abandoned or magically corrupted locations, such as derelict Spelljammer ships, fallen mage towers, or even as a result of experiments gone wrong in alien laboratories. It feeds by absorbing organic matter, dissolving it within its body like a classic ooze, and may split into smaller versions of itself when sufficiently fed, making it a persistent hazard in enclosed spaces.

Despite its lack of sentience, the Tyrant Jelly presents a deadly challenge due to its unpredictable magical rays and resistance to many conventional attacks. Facing one is less about strategy and more about adaptation and survival.
