A Goldendoodle is a hybrid dog breed created by crossing a Golden Retriever with a Poodle, typically a Standard or Miniature Poodle. The breed was first intentionally developed in the 1990s, mainly to combine the Golden Retriever’s friendly, gentle temperament with the Poodle’s intelligence and low-shedding coat, making them popular as family pets and service dogs.
