In Dungeons & Dragons, a kobold female is a small, reptilian humanoid of draconic ancestry, typically found in underground lairs or caverns. Kobolds, regardless of gender, are often depicted as scrawny, with scaly skin that can range from reddish-brown to a dark green or gray hue. They have long snouts, sharp teeth, and lizard-like tails, standing about 2 to 3 feet tall. Females are generally indistinguishable from males to non-kobolds, as they share similar physical traits, but within kobold communities, gender distinctions are recognized.

Kobold societies are often patriarchal, ruled by the strongest or craftiest males, but females play important roles in the tribe's survival, particularly in breeding, caring for the young, and managing the day-to-day activities of the warren. Females can be just as cunning, resourceful, and dangerous as their male counterparts, and in some cases, they may rise to positions of leadership, especially if they possess magic, such as sorcerer abilities often attributed to their draconic heritage.

While physically weaker than many other races, kobolds rely on their intelligence, traps, and sheer numbers to survive. Kobold females, like males, are also fiercely loyal to their kin and are known to work together in groups, showing a strong sense of community and teamwork. Some kobold females may worship deities like Kurtulmak, the kobold god of war and mining, and are deeply spiritual, believing in their race’s connection to dragons. In gameplay, kobold females are treated the same as males in terms of abilities, traits, and combat potential.
