A Newfypoo is a designer dog breed created by crossing a Newfoundland and a Poodle, usually a Standard Poodle. This hybrid aims to combine the best traits of both breeds: the gentle, loyal, and protective nature of the Newfoundland with the intelligence, low-shedding coat, and playful energy of the Poodle.

Newfypoos are generally large dogs, with males often weighing 80–150 pounds and females slightly less. Their coats can vary depending on which parent they take after more—they might be curly like a Poodle, wavy, or more straight like a Newfoundland, often requiring regular grooming to prevent matting. Their colors range widely: black, brown, gray, cream, or even combinations of these.

Temperament-wise, Newfypoos are typically friendly, affectionate, and gentle, making them excellent family pets. They are known to be good with children and other animals, and they often retain Newfoundland traits like being calm and protective, while also inheriting the Poodle’s trainability and intelligence. They do need regular exercise, mental stimulation, and social interaction to stay happy.

Because of their size and coat, Newfypoos may be prone to joint issues and require proper nutrition and care. Grooming can be more intensive than average due to their hybrid coat, and potential owners should be prepared for shedding, brushing, and occasional professional grooming.

In short, a Newfypoo is a large, intelligent, and affectionate hybrid dog that combines the lovable, protective nature of a Newfoundland with the clever, low-shedding traits of a Poodle, making them ideal for families willing to invest in their care.
