This is a Hueforge 3D Art of a Dilophosaurus.

The Dilophosaurus was a medium-sized theropod dinosaur that lived during the Early Jurassic period, around 193 million years ago. It was one of the earliest large predatory dinosaurs, reaching about six to seven meters in length and weighing up to half a tonne. Its most distinctive feature was the pair of thin, curved crests running along the top of its skull, which gave the species its name—meaning “two-crested lizard.” These crests were likely made of delicate bone and may have been used for display, either to attract mates or to signal dominance within its species, rather than for combat or defense.

The head of the Dilophosaurus was relatively long and narrow, with a lightly built skull and sharp, serrated teeth adapted for slicing through flesh. Its jaws were not particularly strong compared to later theropods, suggesting it may have relied on quick strikes or scavenging rather than overpowering large prey. The nostrils were placed high on the snout, and the animal likely had a keen sense of smell, helping it track other creatures across the floodplains and river valleys it inhabited.
