This is a highly detailed miniature of an Abyssal Berserker.
This model was created by Crossel who makes amazingly accurate models of the Monster Manual creatures and provided by kind permission.
An Abyssal Berserker in Dungeons & Dragons is not a standard creature entry in the core rulebooks, but rather a thematic archetype typically associated with the chaotic evil influence of the Abyss and its demonic denizens. The concept blends the primal fury of a barbarian with the corrupting essence of the Abyss, the plane of infinite layers ruled by demon lords such as Demogorgon and Orcus. An Abyssal Berserker is usually portrayed as a mortal warrior who has been tainted, possessed, or empowered by demonic forces, channeling abyssal energy into uncontrollable rage.
Mechanically, this archetype is most often represented through the Barbarian class, particularly the Path of the Berserker or the Path of the Zealot, reflavored to reflect demonic influence. When the berserker enters a rage, the transformation may manifest physically: eyes burning with baleful light, skin cracking with shadowed fissures, or spectral claws and horns emerging as signs of abyssal patronage. Their rage is not merely emotional but supernatural, fueled by the same chaotic energies that shape the Abyss itself.
In narrative terms, an Abyssal Berserker may be a cult champion, a survivor of a demonic incursion, or a warrior who willingly bound themselves to abyssal power in exchange for strength. This power often comes at a cost. The character may struggle against whispers from the Abyss, experience violent compulsions, or gradually lose their humanity. Dungeon Masters can use such a figure as either a formidable antagonist or a morally conflicted player character grappling with corruption.
In combat, an Abyssal Berserker is relentless and terrifying, thriving in melee and shrugging off wounds through sheer fury. Their presence embodies chaos incarnate, a mortal vessel for the Abyss’s endless hunger and destruction.
This model is 47mm tall at 32mm scale.
