An Amber Ooze is a dangerous and enigmatic creature found in certain Dungeons & Dragons settings, particularly within the Spelljammer and Planescape realms, though adaptable to other campaign worlds. These oozes are a variant of the classic gelatinous entities that populate dungeons and the darker corners of the multiverse, distinguished by their strange coloration and unusual abilities. Unlike many of their kin, Amber Oozes possess a rudimentary form of intelligence and an alien cunning that makes them far more dangerous than they might first appear.

Visually, an Amber Ooze appears as a translucent, shimmering mass of viscous fluid with a golden-orange hue, almost beautiful in its appearance. However, this appearance masks a highly corrosive nature, capable of breaking down organic and inorganic matter alike. They typically lurk in forgotten ruins, ancient starships, astral derelicts, or abandoned magical laboratories, places where their unusual origins—often tied to experiments gone wrong or magical residue coalescing over centuries—can go unnoticed.
