This model was created by Schlossbauer who makes amazingly accurate models of the Monster Manual creatures and provided by Commercial Licence.

In Dungeons & Dragons, a Chthonian is a monstrous creature originating from the realms of the Underdark, specifically known for its terrifying presence and formidable powers. These beings are deeply entrenched in the dark and cavernous depths, often serving as guardians or manifestations of the primordial forces that shape the underworld.

Physically, Chthonians are immense and serpentine, resembling colossal worms or snakes with thick, armored hides that seem impervious to harm. Their elongated bodies coil and writhe, capable of reaching lengths that span entire caverns. Their heads are adorned with rows of razor-sharp teeth, and their eyes glow with an otherworldly luminescence, piercing through the darkness of their domain.

Chthonians possess a multitude of abilities that make them formidable adversaries in combat. Their immense strength allows them to crush opponents with their massive coils or unleash devastating strikes with their powerful jaws. Additionally, they are known to possess innate magical abilities, such as the manipulation of earth and stone, allowing them to reshape their subterranean lairs to suit their needs or entrap unwary adventurers.

Furthermore, Chthonians are often associated with dark rituals and ancient powers, making them revered by cultists or feared as agents of sinister forces. Some legends even suggest that these creatures have ties to the primordial beings that existed before the gods, granting them a measure of cosmic significance within the realms of Dungeons & Dragons.

Encountering a Chthonian in the depths of the Underdark is a harrowing experience for even the most seasoned adventurers. Their presence heralds danger and the ever-present threat of being swallowed by the darkness that they embody. Only the bravest and most skilled heroes dare to face these monstrous entities, knowing that the fate of entire civilizations may hinge upon their success or failure in battle against the Chthonian.
