Standing up to twelve feet at the shoulder and weighing several tons, an elephant possesses a broad, muscular body supported by thick pillar-like legs capable of carrying incredible weight. Its tough grey skin is deeply wrinkled, providing protection against harsh climates and biting insects, while its enormous ears help regulate body temperature in the heat.
