This is a Highly detailed miniature of a Gray Shiver.

This model was created by Schlossbauer who makes amazingly accurate models of the Monster Manual creatures and provided by Commercial Licence.

A Gray Shiver is a unique and fearsome creature introduced in Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk, part of the expanded content for the classic Lost Mine of Phandelver adventure in Dungeons & Dragons. These monsters are born from humanoids who have succumbed to the corrupting influence of alien magic, particularly the psionic and reality-warping forces linked to the Far Realm. This influence often manifests through exposure to obelisks tied to eldritch entities, warping both the body and mind of the affected victim into something utterly inhuman. A Gray Shiver represents one of the more terrifying results of this corruption, combining stealth, intelligence, and an almost supernatural ability to manipulate its environment.

Visually, a Gray Shiver is unsettling. It retains a vaguely humanoid form, but it is draped in a semi-liquid skin that flickers and bends light around it, making it difficult to perceive. This camouflage makes it a dangerous predator capable of striking from the shadows and vanishing without a trace. It exists partially out of phase with reality, often seeming to blur or shimmer unnaturally. It is not only a physical danger but a psychological one, inducing paranoia and fear in those who face it.

In combat, a Gray Shiver excels at infiltration and assassination. It can become invisible, slip through spaces that should be impassable, and teleport short distances with disorienting speed. These abilities make it almost impossible to pin down. It uses hit-and-run tactics, weakening its enemies over time rather than engaging in prolonged fights. The creature’s intelligence is on par with a cunning predator, and it often avoids unnecessary risks, preferring ambushes and indirect confrontation.

What makes the Gray Shiver particularly dangerous is that it is not merely a monster, but a symptom of a deeper corruption—an alien influence seeping into the material world. Defeating it may stop a killing spree, but it rarely ends the true threat behind its existence.
