This is a highly detailed miniature of a Turkey Hydra.

This model was created by MZ4250 who makes amazingly accurate models of the Monster Manual creatures and provided by Commercial License.

The Turkey Hydra is a humorous and unofficial monster that originated as part of various Dungeons & Dragons-themed Thanksgiving or holiday-themed adventures, especially among online communities and homebrew creators. While it is not part of any official Dungeons & Dragons sourcebooks published by Wizards of the Coast, it has become a popular parody creature, often used in one-shots or seasonal campaigns for comedic effect.

A Turkey Hydra is typically depicted as a monstrous fusion between a traditional hydra and a giant turkey. Much like a standard hydra, it has multiple heads—often five or more—and when one head is severed, more may grow in its place unless fire or acid is applied. However, instead of dragon-like heads, the Turkey Hydra features oversized turkey heads, each potentially gobbling menacingly and pecking at foes with surprisingly deadly accuracy. Its body is bloated and feathered, resembling an enormous, exaggerated turkey, often with wings that it uses more for bludgeoning than flight. Some iterations also include tail feathers that fan out dramatically, possibly even being used to hypnotize or distract enemies.

Despite its comedic roots, the Turkey Hydra can be statted to present a real challenge. It often features a high Constitution score, decent regeneration abilities (mirroring the hydra's regrowth trait), and multiple attacks per round—one for each head. Some versions breathe clouds of stuffing or emit thunderous gobbles that act like a sonic attack. Creative Dungeon Masters might add unique resistances (such as to gravy or cranberry damage), making it both silly and mechanically interesting.

In tone, the Turkey Hydra is most appropriate for light-hearted games, festive sessions, or campaigns where breaking the fourth wall is welcomed. It allows players to engage with D&D’s mechanics in an absurd context while still testing teamwork and tactics. Though not canonical, the Turkey Hydra embodies the creativity and humor that the D&D community often brings to the table, especially during the holidays.
