This is a highly detailed miniature of a Wererat Female.

This model was created by MZ4250 who makes amazingly accurate models of the Monster Manual creatures and provided by Commercial License.

A female wererat in Dungeons & Dragons is a humanoid cursed or born with the ability to transform into a rat or a hybrid rat-human form. Wererats, also known as ratfolk or lycanthropes, are typically secretive and cunning, operating in the shadows of cities and sewers. Unlike some other lycanthropes who are driven by savagery, wererats are known for their intelligence, discipline, and survival instinct. Female wererats are just as capable as their male counterparts, often serving as spies, assassins, thieves, or gang leaders. Their influence usually extends through urban underworlds where stealth, manipulation, and knowledge of the streets are more valuable than brute strength.

In their humanoid form, female wererats are indistinguishable from ordinary members of their race—typically human, halfling, or sometimes goblinoid. However, they possess heightened senses and agility even when not transformed. In hybrid form, they appear as a blend of humanoid and rodent, often lithe and nimble with fur, whiskers, a ratlike face, and clawed hands. In rat form, they become unusually large specimens of their kind but retain their intelligence.

Wererats tend to value community and hierarchy, often forming tight-knit family units or guilds that operate with military-like structure. Female wererats are not limited to traditional gender roles and may act as matriarchs, tacticians, or field agents depending on the group’s needs. They are inherently suspicious of outsiders and guard their lairs fiercely. Though not necessarily evil, they lean toward lawful evil alignments, prioritizing their own kind and survival above others.

Due to their lycanthropy, female wererats are resistant to non-magical, non-silvered weapons and can infect others with their curse through a bite. However, they are typically more interested in protecting their secret and manipulating others than spreading their condition indiscriminately. Their strength lies not in raw power but in subterfuge, strategy, and the strength of the pack.
