This is a highly detailed miniature of a Wereshark.

This model was created by MZ4250 who makes amazingly accurate models of the Monster Manual creatures and provided by Commercial License.

A wereshark in Dungeons & Dragons is a lycanthropic creature that can transform between humanoid, hybrid, and shark forms. Unlike traditional werewolves, weresharks are associated with the ocean and possess immense strength, sharp teeth, and an insatiable hunger for flesh. They are often depicted as pirates, coastal raiders, or deep-sea horrors that terrorize sailors and island communities. Their origins vary, sometimes linked to curses, ancient magic, or the influence of predatory sea deities.

In combat, weresharks are formidable foes due to their ability to shift forms and their natural resilience. Like other lycanthropes, they have damage resistance to nonmagical attacks unless made with silvered weapons. Their bite attack is particularly deadly, and their aquatic nature grants them enhanced swimming speed and the ability to breathe underwater. Some versions of weresharks can command sharks or sense blood in the water, making them lethal predators in their domain.

A character afflicted with wereshark lycanthropy gains the ability to transform, gaining incredible strength and an overwhelming craving for raw meat, especially from living prey. Unlike most lycanthropes, weresharks may struggle to blend into society due to their aggressive instincts and the physical changes that occur even in their humanoid form, such as sharp teeth or gill-like markings.

Weresharks are primarily found in Dungeons & Dragons settings with strong nautical themes, such as Ghosts of Saltmarsh or Skull & Shackles in Pathfinder. They make excellent villains for seafaring campaigns, serving as enforcers for undersea crime syndicates, cursed buccaneers, or lone predators lurking beneath the waves. Their hybrid nature allows them to challenge both land- and sea-based adventurers, making them one of the most fearsome lycanthropes encountered in an oceanic setting.
