A Zombie Frost Giant in Dungeons & Dragons is the reanimated corpse of a once-mighty frost giant, brought back to a semblance of life through necromantic magic. Unlike the proud and fearsome creatures they once were, zombie frost giants are stripped of their will, intellect, and personality, reduced to shambling husks that obey the commands of their necromantic masters. Their physical might, however, remains largely intact, making them formidable opponents even in undeath.
In life, frost giants are massive, brutal warriors from the frozen reaches of the world, standing over 20 feet tall and wielding immense weapons. As zombies, their skin becomes pale, mottled with frostbite and rot, and their movements slow and stiff. Despite this degradation, they are still immensely strong, capable of devastating attacks with greatclubs or fists. Their bodies are often partially frozen, their bones and muscles held together not just by dark magic, but also by ice that clings unnaturally to their limbs.
Zombie frost giants are typically created by powerful necromancers or evil deities who seek to bolster their undead legions with brute strength. They may also rise in cursed places where giant kin once fell in battle, animated by ambient necrotic energies. Unlike typical zombies, which are little more than fodder, a zombie frost giant poses a serious threat due to its sheer size and resilience. It is immune to many effects that would debilitate the living, such as poison or exhaustion, and it does not tire, hesitate, or flee.
These undead giants are often found guarding icy tombs, wandering desolate tundras, or serving as siege weapons in undead armies. Their presence is a blight on the natural world, a grotesque reminder that not even the mightiest of giants are safe from the grasp of death and the desecration of undeath.
