This is a Hueforge 3D Art of a Hadrosaurus.
Hadrosaurus was a large, plant-eating dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 75 to 70 million years ago, in what is now North America. It belonged to the group known as hadrosaurids, often referred to as “duck-billed dinosaurs” because of their wide, flattened snouts that resembled the bill of a duck. This distinctive feature helped them crop and chew tough vegetation efficiently, aided by hundreds of tightly packed teeth that worked like grinding surfaces, allowing them to feed on a wide range of plants, including ferns, conifers, and flowering species that dominated the landscape at the time.
The name Hadrosaurus, meaning “sturdy lizard,” was given to the first specimen discovered in Haddonfield, New Jersey, in the 1850s. This find was historically significant because it was one of the first nearly complete dinosaur skeletons ever unearthed and the first mounted for public display, marking an early milestone in the scientific study of dinosaurs. It provided crucial evidence that dinosaurs were not sluggish reptiles but dynamic, possibly fast-moving creatures capable of both bipedal and quadrupedal movement.
