“WD 2-10-0 – 90775 ‘The Royal Norfolk Regiment’” is a preserved War Department Austerity steam locomotive of the 2-10-0 wheel arrangement. It was built in 1943 by the North British Locomotive Co under a design by Robert Riddles. Originally one of 12 Austerity 2-10-0s delivered in December 1943 and intended for use overseas, it later ended up in Greece as part of the Hellenic State Railways (as SEK Class Λβ951). After retirement in Greece in 1979, it was repatriated to the UK in 1984. It now resides on the North Norfolk Railway and carries the name “The Royal Norfolk Regiment,” a name bestowed in September 2017 (though in 2021 it was also renamed “The Earl Haig” for a period)
